Renovos Biologics Appoints Lisa Ferrara, Ph.D. to Its Board

Dr. Ferrara previously founded OrthoKinetic Technologies and OrthoKinetic Testing Technologies and is a member of the ODT editorial board.

Renovos Biologics has appointed Lisa Ferrara, Ph.D. to its board as a non-executive director.
 
Dr. Ferrara has extensive experience developing new orthopedic devices in the U.S. and securing their regulatory approval. The appointment comes as Renovos moves forward with development of its lead product RENOVITE BMP-2, a next-gen precision drugs carrier.
 
Dr. Ferrara is a managing partner of technology consulting firm Hypoid Ventures. She previously founded OrthoKinetic Technologies and OrthoKinetic Testing Technologies, two companies that specialize in medical device evaluation, strategic positioning, and regulatory success. The companies were later acquired.
 
She also founded and directed the Spine Research Laboratory at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, has authored more than 60 journal publications, and edited 26 book chapters. Dr. Ferrara has numerous patents to her name.
 
She is a member of several healthcare advisory boards and editorial boards. Dr. Ferrara is a member of the Orthopedic Design & Technology editorial board.

Renovos was granted Breakthrough Device Designation by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for RENOVITE BMP-2 in November 2023. RENOVITE BMP-2 offers retention of Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP-2) at the target site of repair, leading to improved bone fusion, safety, and ease of use across spine procedures. This includes minimally invasive and endoscopic applications, as the formulation is injectable.
